mark making critique
Over all composition-I thought my critique went well. Every one in our group thought the over all compostion was very good . They said the craftsmanship was good. they also said said when they say it they wanted to look more at it. Some people said they thought it would have been good if there would have been something more in the tent to look at. I said I had thought of that , but I thought that we we not to go to crazy on the structure. that it was to be more about the marks, and less about the structure.
Sense of mood- The mood was to be a little out door like. I think the black and white gave it a little surreal feel.
Relationship of emotion to the work-I was trying to use shocking as my emotion . I used a shoe as my mark maker. It represented walking over my parents I tried to convey shocking but I think it was a little hard to convey. I think I did that but I think I might could have got it across a little more clear. i don't know how ,but I am sure some how it could have been better. One person thought I should have used different shoe to represent my Mom and Dad. I thought that was good. wish i had thought of it.
Use of negative space-I tried to use negative space by not using all the space that was there. That was some thing that I really tried to keep in mind. No one in the critique said anything about the use of negative space.
Use of the materials- I think I used the materials well . They asked me If I made it my self. They thought I bought it. They thought I constructed the tent well.
Presentation- The presentation was good . It turned out well that the tent was on eye level. If it had been any higher it would not have worked . Everyone thought it was something that has to be looked straight into.

lecture homework
This is a pitcher I took of my brother in law . He is holding a pitcher taken of him when he was a baby. He did an ad for a milk company. I wanted to take this photo of him because I liked the idea of showing him as he is now ,in his surundings with a pitcher of the past. There is a hint in this photo for the viewer of diffaculties he faces now , That is the cane next to his chair. He was diagnosed with M.S. two years ago, and now he can hardly move. My Husband liked this photo ,because of the meaning of it. He gave it framed to his brother for Christmas. I think in 10 years we will still care about the photo. In 10 years he may not be around , or he will be in worse shape from the M.S. this pitcher will probley have more meaning to it then.
This is a photo of me when I was 3. I just got this photo in the mail, my aunt sent it to me. I have never seen it before I guess my Mom sent it to her. The photo was taken when we lived in Evreux France in 1966. It was taken by a man named Al Torres . I know all this because lucky he wrote it on the back. I love this photo , and I am so glad to have gotten it. The reson I love it is because it is of a little girl plaing in her mothers heels. The photo is not staged and I think it tells a great story. I for sure will have and care about this photo in 10 years.
